Today I spoke to a Representative who deals with immigration issue at Sen Mike Dewine's (R-OH) office. I spoke to him for 15 minutes to understand what he and his senator think about this CIR.
Here is he and his senator feels about this bill. It is difficult for him to say that when CIR bill will be introduced in senate floor . It depend on Majority and Minority leaders to decide. Majority leader told to the media that he will introduce before the end of the may, he is mostly consistent, but there are several bills where he has committed a timeline and till today it is not on the floor.
However he told that once CIR pass, legal immigration is already taken care of, but if it does not passes there are bills like SKIL which will be put before the floor. But CIR has to fail or pass before you see this SKILL bill on the floor.

desi - the reason we face all these issues is not because of anyone's fault.
Reporting an employer is not as easy as it sounds.
The most educated and experienced people have always recommended to "protect yourself" - look for yourself and keep out of trouble.
The issue here is - people in this situation are mere scapegoats - a common man who approaches beaucracy has to deal with crap that is worse.
The entire process of immigrating to US via a employment based system is so loosely organized and puts people in unfair situations.
It is just not desi employers or consulting companies, in general, but any employer can have an upper hand on you when you are at their mercy.
People say big companies have policies and they abide. I agree, but it is not always the case. If someone is in business - they do things in their business interest - if dealing with USCIS is getting difficult - they may say "enough of it - no more responding to RFEs".
One person contacted me - he is having a fulltime job and filed for AC21. he got RFE for EVL 2 times. The first time his HR gave EVL without any hasstles, the second time she was pissed, said "We do not want to deal with this - I have contacted legal and they recommend not to issue such letters".
Now such a situation puts this person in a tough spot -the issue is not because of his employer because his employer did give a proper letter but USCIS asked it again.
Just imagine what is this person's situation for no fault of his?
We can always argue that "If you are worth and if company wants to retain you then they will not have any issues" - which once again may not always be true because we all know how relationships work out at companies - with ass kissing, nepotism, situations, financial etc......

Now just see the pattern, the moment we start talking about donation and volunteering .. the guys sitting on the sidelines distracting and demotivating , stopped being part of the conversation. Everyone says I am rude, not I am not I just show the mirror as it is.. what can I do if you see the ugly face in it.
How good the group can be , which is actually missing when you need the count.
IV made so many effort to keep the group attracted to this, by ask a attorney for free and other things.. I don't think the group deserve all this..
They might thank you if you can put up a shortcut for the pathetic visa bulletins published every month.

My checks did not get cashed yet...checking my acct daily..
see my signature, no receipts till date money order not cashed, Called USCIS got an answer.... "Not yet in the System", but IO told me there is a big junk of files and it will be processed in next 30 or 40 days.

thanks gujju, srinivas_o for your contributions and continued support. It is nice to see EB3 guys being proactive. Giving up or doing nothing is not an option. This is the best chance we have until 2013.

Thanks for the update. Let me share my concern with the CIR. Do you think that someone (lawmakers) is going to officially vote for the CIR to die? I don't believe so. Discussions, debates, political bickering and fingerpointing can drag on for months and even years because no one is officially willing to kill it for obvious political reasons. How long do you think we (IV) can wait until we start pushing for other bills?
Appreciate your feedback.

In the past week, the "Protest Blooms" campaign notched up the following wins:

Buzz in the blogosphere
Attention from many attorney websites and blogs
Had a Washington Post journalist show interest in our issue and had tens of our members talk to her - which should result in a good article. How many times have we seen so many regular members of IV being able to speak to a reporter of a mainstream US publication on our issues?
Had a senior Reuters editor talk to many of us and he promised a sustained coverage of our issues
Had a senior reporter from New York Times talk to me
Had the footage of this entire event shown on CNN in India
Had many small media outlets which never cover these kind of issues, cover it (in smaller towns in MN and NY)
Created a sense of action in the community which was feeling pretty dejected after the USCIS fiasco
Had USCIS director react to us
Had so much interest generated that the IV website was brought down J
Brought a great deal of attention to IV (see previous point)And all this was accomplished with a severe time crunch. The grassroots effort involved in this campaign was unbelievable - thanks to everyone who kept the faith.
Was the point of this campaign to have our flowers be decorated on the desk of the director of USCIS? I don't think so. The word again was "symbolic" and that purpose is served whether the flowers are in boxes or in full view of the world.
Would it have made for better visuals if the flowers were in full view? Sure. Is there a way to improve upon every campaign? Sure.
Let us learn from what went right and what went wrong and use this to better execute all future events.

It means they have used 90K Visa out of 140-150K ..it means 50K visa left for next 5 month..not sure how much visa dates wlll be moved.

If EB3 ROW becomes current or close to current next visa bulliten there might be some movement for India and china in coming months or atleast IN FY 2009.

In my opinion most people who are on H1 n IT with american companies, either got in there via OPT- H1 or H1 transfer.
That is very true! In very very extreme cases, you would find American companies recruiting directly from India for IT jobs! That may be like, one in 1000!

I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

Write letters to Ombudsman, USCIS, DHS, Senators. Keep writing until they listen
Somebody gave a red at "05:13 AM" with comments: "letters..stupid idea?" - I am not here to become famous and become IV-CEO or something :-) so red does not matter. This is height of someone's frustration though ...instead of coming up with some idea - just criticize other's ideas..and that too at 5AM in the morning (or around that time in different timezone)..you must be a manager dude :D

My guess is Eb3 India will not be current this year. From other Law firm site I observe that we will see mini version of what happend last year so I guess Eb2 I will be current .. ( Not because I am Eb2 ( I ) ) . Eb3 ROW will be C guys soon..
